Why This Program Matters

 

Currently, there are no programs that provide systematic training specifically for teaching Cantonese. Most existing language programs focus on Mandarin or general Chinese instruction, and teacher preparation programs rarely offer Cantonese-specific pedagogy or practical teaching experience.

The CantoLTA Bilingual Teacher Training & Mentorship Program fills this critical gap by providing Cantonese-focused teaching methods, hands-on classroom practice, and guided mentorship. Teachers who complete the program gain the skills and confidence needed to engage learners in both the language and culture, preparing them for community, heritage, bilingual, and private teaching opportunities.

Please note: This program offers a non-accredited certificate of completion. It recognizes participation, skill development, and mentorship experience, but does not replace an official teaching credential. Teachers seeking formal bilingual certification or state-recognized credentials should pursue an accredited teacher preparation program in addition to this training.
